Maritime & Port Security Symposium
Incorporating three streams, the Maritime & Port Security Symposium within PacSec2010 will examine maritime and port security in the light of Australia's 2008 National Security Statement and 2009 Defence White Paper.

The first stream, covering both civil and military issues, will deal with emerging maritime security challenges and provide an update on implementing a whole-of-government approach to maritime and port security solutions. Stream 1 will canvass evolving issues for port security and discuss the implementation of Australia's new Strategic Border Management Plan. It will also examine New Zealand's new National Security Review from the perspective of maritime and port security.

Stream 2 will cover technology issues focusing on maritime security operations within a whole-of-nation intelligence picture. It will deal with international perspectives, discussing identity management on sea and land. The technology issues stream will present case studies discussing the application of military technology to the civil sector and the interface between government and industry in remote area security preparedness.

The third stream will focus on government issues with respect to maritime security. It will examine changes and refinements to the regulatory environment underpinning Australia's maritime security regime.
